How to enable/disable JavaScript on the iPad, iPhone or any iOS device

By

Enabling and disabling JavaScript on your iPad can radically change your web browsing experience. Many modern web sites will not function without JavaScript and only show an error if it is not enabled. When you get a “JavaScript is not enabled” error while browsing a web site you can easily turn JavaScript back on. Or if you want to disable JavaScript to prevent malicious web sites from tracking your actions here is what to do.

Step 1

Start the “Settings” app on your iOS device.

See all 3 photos

Step 2

Once inside the settings app, scroll down until you reach the “Safari” functions. Select on “Safari”.

Step 3

You will now see all of the Safari settings possible for the iPad or iPhone device. About mid way down, you will see JavaScript option. It should be set to off. Touch it and you will enable the JavaScript function for your browser. The next time to go to a web site that requires JavaScript, there should be no problem. To turn off JavaScript, just switch this setting to off.
