Best LG Optimus 3D case and accessories

By

There is a short list of the best LG Optimus 3D case and accessories which fortunately does not include 3D glasses. LG has created an Android phone that can display 3D images and video without special glasses as well record 3D video. The rest of the phone is no slouch, it features a dual core CPU, a front facing camera, 4.3 inch screen and HDMI out. If you have just purchased this new LG Optimus, here are some accessories to get the most out of your phone.

Case

A good phone case is a must for any device and the Optimus 3D is no exception. The primary job is any case is to protect your device from damage from accidents or even every day use.  But cases are also a great way to make a statement about yourself and your tastes. While the Optimus 3D has some awesome capabilities, its style is still somewhat generic. So a case's color and style can say a lot about the owner. When selecting a case, the three types of to select from including glove, skin or holster cases. Glove skin cases completely cover the Optimus and only have openings for ports and buttons. Skin cases are made from sheets of very thin but durable plastic and adhere right on the phone including the display. They are pretty much “invisible” to most users and do a great job of shielding the phone from scratches. Unfortunately, these cases do very little if you should happen to drop your device.

If you are looking for drop protection, consider a glove or holster case. Glove cases are cousins of a skin case except they are made of silicone, plastic or leather and are thicker than skins. They are also non-transparent so there has to a cut out to allow the user to access the screen. Using a glove case has many advantages like scratch and drop protection. But it also allows you to easily change to look and color of your LG phone. Unfortunately, most glove cases can only guard the device from low height drops. If you want more protection consider getting a holster case. Holsters are made of ticker plastic or leather which acts as padding for the phone in case of an accident. They are also a great way to carry your 2D around without occupying your hands. Unfortunately, you have to remove the phone from the holster in order to use it so these cases do not provide full time protection.

Screen Protector

The 3D version of the Optimus has a large 4 inch touch screen. This display creates the amazing 3D effect, but it is also the most vulnerable part of the device. Like all touch screens, the display can be scratched or marred by minor accidents. The best way to guard your display from harm is to use a screen protector. Screen protectors are very thin sheets of clear plastic which stick right on the display and shield it from minor blemishes that would obscure the screen.

Charger

The Optimus 3D uses a microUSB port to charge and sync the device. This allows you to use any standard microUSB charger to power your phone. If you do not already have extra chargers, consider getting a car charger to allow you to top off your battery during your daily commute. Another good option for an accessory is to keep a spare charger at work so you can recharge your device during the day if you run low on juice.

Memory

If you plan to take a lot of 3D videos, you will want to increase the free space on your phone. Fortunately LG has included a microSD port that can take up to a 32 GB microSDHC card. By simply removing the LG Optimus 3D case and battery cover you can easily upgrade the space on your device. Upgrading to a 16 or even 32 GB card will allow you to record a lot more 3D video as well as hold hours of video or music.
